We began the month with an apple picking outing with the two families to a little farm outside and north of the city by 40 minutes. Sections of the orchards were signed with the different varieties, and everyone had a ball picking fruit. Part of the adventure was to climb the ladder to reach apples on some of the upper branches. There was also a haybale maze, which the kids felt was a little beneath them as they could see over the walls and the mystery was absent. Still, the fun was in the climbing and balancing on the bales... |
Then mid-month we went on a trip to the pumpkin patch with Casey's Cub Scout Den to gather pumpkins for the holidays. There were opportunities to play on an ancient Case tractor, and feed the goats with a contraption that hoisted feed up to the goats on an upper level. Then out to the patch to discover one's very own pumplins. The month ended with a Granny and Jiichan outing to Amazon Park...
