Oakland Yacht Club

The Oakland Yacht Club is situated on the banks overlooking the Oakland estuary on the island of Alameda. We came on the facility through Barbara's place of work - her office holds meetings there on occasion. We checked out several facilities on our side of the bay in looking for a place to hold our celebration, including the Brazilian Room in Tilden Park in Berkeley, a conference room in a hotel at the Berkeley Marina, and the Horizon Room at the Claremont Resort and Spa, where our son and daughter-in-law held their Hallowedding four years ago. |

As it turned out the Brazilian Room was not available on our date, the view from the conference room at the Berkeley Marina was terrible, and the Horizon Room was outside of our budget limits. We decided on the Oakland Yacht Club, which had atmosphere, a terrific view overlooking the local boating lanes, and a general manager in Martha Moses who extended herself in many ways for our benefit, and who was personable, helpful, and excited with our anniversary plans. We couldn't have been more pleased because of her help. |
