This month saw Casey visiting the Gateway Mall with Venice on a Jiichan outing - we had gone there to play Glow-in-the-Dark Golf, only to find it had gone out of business. We decided then to visit Border's Books as an alternate venture, where they checked out books for pleasure and purchase. One day when Venice wasn't able to make the Jiichan outing, Casey and Jiichan checked out the Science Factory, where Casey observed the resident iguana and played with some of the interactive science displays. Granny brought out a science experiment for the grandchildren - this was a working volcano with spouting lava. Then the four Eugene families gathered at the home of Diana and Chris to celebrate Thanksgiving. Chris served as head chef, cooking some 13 courses for the meal - a great feast, and tasty. We all wrote out what we were thankful for on a feather, and placed it on the festive turkey...
Casey's Cub Scout Pack participated in Crest Elementary School's holiday food drive, and delivered the donated food to the Food for Lane County program. |
