This, now, is the final time for Jiichan outings for Casey here in the Bay Area - he invited Aiden once again for an outing, this time to Jack London Square, where we made the rounds to his favorite places and did his favorite things, including a trip to Barnes & Noble - yes, we got a couple of books...
There was one final outing before Casey moved to Eugene, this to the Museum of Paleontology on the UC Berkeley campus, another of Casey's favorite places. The museum was where the receptionist was quite impressed with Casey's interest and knowledge of things ancient. She was so taken with him that she asked him if he'd like to meet a real paleontologist, and of course his response was, yes... |
This wasn't an easy task as all the professors were at the time unavailable, so she asked young graduate student to give us a tour of the back archives, a place not open to other than graduate students and professors - he was very impressed with Casey's stated professional goal of becoming a paleontologist, and was very generous with his time and the various artifacts...
We ended the month with a final family dinner at Chilli's inEmeryville - then, shortly the Alameda clan left for Eugene...
By the end of the month Granny and Jiichan were in need of a grandchild "fix," so they made a Eugene Sojourne over Memorial Day weekend to feed this need...
