| For our Granny/Jiichan outings during winter, particularly in inclement weather, we tend to find indoor activities to interest the grandchildren. Chuck-e-Cheese is a favorite, though with the cheesey prizes you wonder what the attraction is - Still, they do love going there. Two other outings were days when the weather was cold and slightly damp, and we ended up at a section of the Willamette River where ducks and other water fowl congregate, and another time at Amazon Park, aka Dinosaur Park, and in a whirlwind of fantasy they played long and hard.. |
One other outing was on a day that Eugene proper celebrated Champions from all quarters of the community, with a special emphasis on the Pac 10 Championship football team - Go Ducks! Several departments of the University were represented, as was a contingent of next year's incoming freshmen class, local fire departments, an Irish heritage group, and a military color guard and others that rounded out our community very nicely - Now who doesn't love a parade...?
