Early this month we went to the Christmas/Santa parade in Springfield, next door to Eugene. Santa rode in on the back of a large fire department truck with a huge cherry picker attachment. The parade was lots of fun with all the charm of a homey small town parade. We also trekked north of the city to a Christmas tree farm to pick a tree for the Monroe and Blacktail Street homes. Then on Christmas day, all four families gathered at Diana and Chris' home for such fine Christmas fare, though the children opened presents at home before coming over, they not being able to ward off their great anticipation. |
Xander received an electric guitar as one of his presents, and he proceeded to give us his rendition of Elvis' moves, complete with musical strumming and gyrating of hips. After dinner we all made gingerbread houses...
Tori's parents, Cathy and Keith, had sold their home in Powell, Wyoming, and just arrived here before Christmas, so joined in the festivities - WELCOME Cathy and Keith as Eugene's newest residents...
For a winter wonderland the day after Christmas, a sight to behold, check out Blacktail Drive... |
