This month Xander went on a couple of play dates with sister, Venice, one to a local park in the sun, and another to a friend of Venice's on a day that was slightly drizzly - this didn't stop any of the kids, as they played both indoors and outside on a climbing structure in the back yard. It didn't rain very heavily, but Jiichan didn't want to get wet so stayed indoors or under the backyard awning. This was also the month that sister Venice celebrated her fifth birthday - a month early, Mommy and Daddy thought a party was essential this month as they would be in their new home in Eugene from the beginning of April, and no one would be available for a party - so, party time it was... |
Xander is quite fearless when it comes to climbing on play structures and jumping off same and running - he seems to gain a thrill just being in fast-motion. This is usually with either a smile on his face, or a focused determination - either way, he is a delight to watch as he moves like a controlled tornado. Towards the end of the month, we took Xander and sister Venice to a local barbershop catering to children - Jiichan was impressed with the setting, and the sensitive abilities of the women barbers. There was some concern that both might have a tough time with this haircut, what with all the turmoil at home with preparations for leaving - but, both were real troupers, and did very well. Then it was pool time in a hotel, their last day and overnight in Rocklin before making the trek north to Eugene... |
