The celebration for the three January birthday guys, Xander, Casey, and Jiichan, had to be postponed due to various conflicts - it is to be rescheduled for a later date when calendars are freer - this may prove a tough task, as each of our families are in major preparation mode for packing and planning the mass-move north to Eugene.
We did have a simple birthday celebration for Xander with Granny and Jiichan present, which was quiet and fun - Xander loved blowing out the candles, and tried his hand at trying to light them with the fire-starter. Mommy Diana tried out a party treat with a hotdog for an upcoming party - it involved slitting one end of a hotdog four times, leaving eight legs, giving you an Octi-dog... |
Cousin Casey and Jiichan made a trek to the train museum in Sacramento one day, involving an Amtrak bus ride in the morning, and a return trip on a train back to the Bay Area - Xander and sister, Venice, met us there, and we made a day of it at the museum.
Late in the month Xander's Mom and Dad made a return visit to Eugene, Oregon to check out a house they had fallen in love with during an exploratory weekend back in the fall - Granny and Jiichan came up to the Rocklin homestead to care for Xander and Venice for the weekend. We made a trip to the blue park on Friday, and to the green park on Saturday - Xander is a climbing fool, and expends great amounts of energy climbing and having a ball... |
