| Diana found this website where one can order a castle building kit, full with instructions and connecting rivets. Jiichan contributed several moving boxes, which added to several wardrobe moving boxes on hand - to this were added two additional wardrobe boxes purchased from UHaul. The boxes were laid out in a rectangular square, or squarish rectangle, and then began the painting. Jiichan took Venice to the Sherwin-Williams paint store out on 11th, and she chose pink for the base paint, white to mark out the bricks, and purple for trim and color... |
First we cut the various parts to shape, and then fitted them loosely together to get the right layout. Both Venice and Xander helped with the painting, after first donning smocks - they did well, only getting a little paint in places not intended. Once the base castle was decked out in pink, then came the brickwork throughout. The archway in front was painted with a sign indicating this was Venice's Fairy Castle, and a rooster weather vane was welded together to top the parapet wall. The castle theme was carried out in the invitation to the party... |
