In early October Venice and Xander and Mom visited the Berkeley homestead, and we took in the children's park nearby, always a treat. Then in mid-month we made the trek north to have parents of the Rocklin and Alameda clans check out Eugene and Portland for our planned mass-family move come spring of 2007 - Granny and Jiichan provided grandchildren care so their parents could sleep in and catch extra snoozes, as well as cruise the cities and neighborhoods without distractions. Plus, it was a treat for Granny and Jiichan to spend such intense time with all four grandkids...! |
Actually, the Rocklin crew and Jiichan visited Eugene so parents could explore that city, prior to the rest of the family enplaning to Portland, where we all met to check out those environs. We checked out both downtown areas, with especial attention to Eugene's fabulous new main library, where Venice practiced her photographic skills, and also the great water park there, and the cool water fountain in downtown Portland. On our return home and after a couple of weeks of recouperation, we enjoyed the fun of Halloween in Rocklin with the entire Nagai-Beyer-Bailey Northern California family... |
