My daughter, Diana, invited Barbara and me to be present in the delivery room with her and Chris. Of course, the Doula would be there, and various and sundry nurses, and at the appropriate timing, their doctor, who would be the primary medical person to oversee the arrival of Venice Takara. We arrived at the hospital just before 8:00 PM, with plenty of time to spare...
Diana had a "routine" exam at 8:30, at which time she was at 8 cm, and the pace of things began to speed up...

Everything went well, wee Venice Takara taking her own sweet time in making the scene. Labor was something like 5 hours, with the hard pushing coming in the last 60 minutes or so. This was an amazing experience all around - for Diana and Chris, the new parents, and for us grandparents - it would be wonderful to know what Venice Takara thought...
