Granny and Jiichan arrived in late afternoon on June 30th, and everyone gathered at the home of Tori and Paul where the whole family came together to celebrate the new arrivals in town.
First on the docket was the Fourth of July parade in Creswell, 20 minutes south of Eugene - a local parade drawing from the surrounding countryside and local towns, it was a "small town" parade, including fire engines, ambulances, tractor drawn trailers, city officials in open cars, and marching bands from local high schools around the area. |
Later that night, we celebrated the Fourth with safe and sane fireworks in Diana and Chris' driveway - and, several neighbors added to the fun with illegal fireworks that lit up the sky.
All the cousins have many opportunities to spend time with each other, as time and the many local parks allow for planned and spontaneous meetings at parks. Teiya enjoys playing with Xander, and they for the most part get along - she is very active and physical, and has excellent control over her small and large motor functions. |
