The ride to The Birth Home was one filled with excitement and tension - Amy, the doula, was called and arrived early in the morning. She assessed things, and thought it best they head for the home right away - a call to the service was made, and they were off. Traffic was heavy, as morning commute is wont to be, raising anxieties over the possibility of major slow-downs leading to birthing in the car. They arrived at the home near 7:30, only to find the door locked, it dark inside, and no one answering the bell. Paul called the service and indicated they were on the porch, and were needing to push - this sped up the already on her way mid-wife, who arrived shortly...
The final pushing was 15 minutes, and Teiya Frances Nagai Beyer made her debut to accompanying applause and rampant joy...

Nana Cathy and Geepaw Keith, visiting from Powell, Wyoming, brought Casey out to the home to be present once Teiya had made her appearance - He took it all in with outer calm, though he was a chatterbox throughout much of his visit...
Jiichan came out to be present after Teiya's arrival - to record things, and join in the festivities of Teiya's coming out celebration. Once home, Granny Barbara visited outside and downwind as she had a cold and didn't want to infect Teiya. Otherwise, the festivities continued welcoming her to her new home... |
