| Early this month Casey and Venice went with Jiichan for their Wednesday outing at the indoor golf course at Putter's and some arcade style games. Then all four grandchildren helped Granny with decorating the Christmas tree in the living room. Jiichan put the strings of lights on the tree, and the kids helped with decorating by hanging all the ornaments laid out by Granny. Granny had also bought a Star Wars pop-up book to be kept at the house, and it became one of the main attractions of the house for Casey and Xander especially, and a little less so for Venice and Teiya. One treat at the house was mochii, a traditional Japanese New Years treat... |
On Christmas Eve Granny and Jiichan gathered with Nana and Geepa over at Casey's home, where he and Teiya opened some early Christmas gifts. Casey is wildly into Star Wars, so many of his gifts were of that ilk - a mechanical R2-D2 was especially a fun gift. He also got a Bionicle creature, which he spent quite a lot of his time constructing. Then, on Christmas day Granny and Jiichan started out the morning at the Monroe house, where Casey and Teiya opened more gifts, and later around 2:00 everyone gathered over at Venice's house for more presents and food and time together - festivities lasted into the evening, when the sandman made his rounds... |
