| Casey and Venice spend each Wednesday on a Jiichan outing, and they work out well together - they love to study and read on a variety of subjects, enjoy each other on climbing structures, both at her school at Arts and Technology Academy and his at Crest Elementary - at his school they discovered a tall tree stump, which they figured out a way to climb. One other day Casey spent time at his school, and made out as a sidewalk, or playground, artist. The message in the one said, "I don't want to leave..." - meaning Crest Elementary, where he wants to stay til he's through college, after which he would return to teach... |
We went as a full family out to Thistledown Farms north of the city where we hunted pumpkins out in the farm's pumpkin fields. It was a brisk day, and many of the pumpkins had already been picked over - we found many to our satisfaction, though, and had a trailer ride out and back pulled by a tractor. We missed the trailers hauled by teams of horses. We also spent some time in the cornfield maze, and sort of got lost, except either Chris or Paul figured a way out - the kids loved it. We ended the month with Halloween - Casey went as Luke Skywalker, Venice as a Fairy-Mermaid, Xander as a golfer, and Teiya as a walking turtle... |
