This was a busy month for family activities - after some of the normal things, Diana and Venice and Xander, and Granny and Jiichan with Casey, went on a whirlwind trip down to Morro Bay, California to be with the Nagai-Tanaka family for an extended weekend. As always, the food was good and plentiful, it was good to touch bases with family, and the weather treated us very nicely - a nice time was had at the beach, and the protected cove around Morro Rock...
Tori and Paul and Teiya then came came down from Eugene to the Bay Area, and those who had made the trek to Morro Bay, returned to the Bay Area and everyone was hosted at the home of Tracy and Scott in Vallejo for a summer gathering of the Merry Makers families. |

Then, the Eugene extended family gathered at Diana and Chris' to celebrate Granny's birthday, where Diana made a meatloaf cake with a vegetable filler, topped with a mashed potato frosting, and writing in catsup - tasty, unique, and fun...
Teiya this time went on a Jiichan outing with Casey because Venice was sick - Venice's misfortune meant Teiya could go out with Casey and Jiichan, and was she thrilled...! We went to the Science Museum next to the UO stadium, where Casey tutored her in the finer points of the various interactive exhibits, then ended the day at Adams Park near the river... |
