Casey Benjamin Beyer Nagai

March 2008

Casey and Venice spend a lot of time together now, a benefit of our family move to Eugene, and much of it is in outings to parks, to bowling alleys, a couple of arcades, and ice cream shops. Their relationship has developed such that they are a treat to be with - their conversations are pretty grown up, and they rarely argue, though they both have very clear ideas about how the world works and what they like and don't like. They share treats, and love telling "bad" jokes, those that cause one to cringe they're so bad... Easter was celebrated at Granny and Jiichan's on Panorama Drive - the back yard lent itself well to the Easter egg hunt, and the grandchildren loved the adventure of poking around the rhododendron plants and trees searching for eggs - wisely the adults had set limits on the number of eggs one could "discover," so each ended with similar tallies for eggs. The tallying of real eggs, and plastic eggs with candy and change inside, came out well. We all stayed for family dinner at Granny and Jiichan's...
