Casey Benjamin Beyer Nagai

September 2006

Wednesdays are adventure trek days - once again we returned to the Lawrence Hall of Science and Jack London Square. Casey in particular loves the outdoor exhibit at Lawrence, where he interacts with the earth quake displays, climbs on the granite sculpture, and each time re-discovers the thrill of scientific exploration - he never tires of touching the fringes of anything scientific, and the fire in his mind never dims, even with revisiting so often - it is, though, a challenge for Jiichan to look at everything as fresh each time. The sequence toward the bottom is Casey combing his hair into a punk style - funny... At Jack London Square Casey returns each time to the fountains, where we toss pennies in to support UNESCO - actually, he loves tossing pennies in because of the sound they make plopping into the water - and this time checking out the sculpture of the goddess and eagle. He reads a lot of signs and posters wherever we go, and here, the plaque at the base of the sculpture. We revisit Jack London's cabin, where Casey wonders out loud why it was so small, and climbs on the quintessential wolf sculpture - ahh, the call of the wild, and Casey always responds...
