Casey Benjamin Beyer Nagai

May 2006

The dinosaur exhibit at the Lawrence Hall of Science was leaving, so we made our weekly trek up the hill to say our goodbyes - Casey's dino-hat was made by your's truly at Venice's birthday party. While the party had a ladybug theme, Casey didn't want a ladybug hat, he wanted a T-Rex hat - so, Jiichan made one for him, much to the envy of other boys at the party. Casey said his goodbyes, though the roars of the dinosaurs still hurt his ears...

We had a double sleep-over with Casey and Venice - and in the morning we trekked up to Rocklin and spent the day with Venice's family - they planted seeds, and played in the water in balmy weather...
The interactive exhibits at LHS of the tectonic plate action in the Bay Area, the power of water and erosion, and how the Bay Area was formed by tectonic plate action and water, were most interesting to Casey - in part because he could dam water flows in the exhibit, and that power was intoxicating. We also visited the Chabot Space and Science Center in Oakland, where the wonders of the universe, our solar system, and astronauts took ahold of Casey...

We made a return visit to Jack London Square after a rather long absence - the weather was nice, and it was good to get back to a familiar place - AND, to chocolate ice cream at Ben & Jerry's...!
